Be the first person to send me snaps of yourself at the restaurant with all of the avocados and win a gift certificate to Love you Mor in Elk Horn!!!
Also, I wanted to share this with you....
While I was researching Christmas symbols and traditions in Mexico, and I came acrossed one that I had never heard of before. It is called "Las Posadas" which means "inn, or lodging."
Apparently families dress up like Mary and Joseph, the children dress like angels and they walk around town acting out the Journey to Bethlehem. Similar to Christmas caroling, the family groups knock on their neighbors doors and sing them a song. They then ask each home for a place to stay, to which the neighbors respond "There is no room here" and send them on their way. Sometimes neighbors will give out a glass of punch, but not candy. When they finally reach their own home, there is a pinata and a party waiting for them!
I love this idea! Who wants to start doing this with me!!!! ? My kids said it might not work in the Midwest though, since we would probably get asked to come in for coffee and kringle every place we stopped in our little Danish town! What do you think? Would this work in Iowa?
Thanks for joining my journey!
