I remember a time in my childhood when my parents chopped down a tree at the edge of their property. It was near our “fort” so we used the stump as our table for tea parties! A little while later we noticed a tiny green shoot growing up from it. It was so cute, and fragile and hopeful that we decided to let it grow. We forgot all about it, and 10 years later the tree had grown back bigger than before!
God has reached down to us in the person of Jesus Christ, to heal us, to forgive us and guide us into a new life of growth. Sometimes we get pruned back, we lose everything, we have to start over. Maybe this has been a time of loss for you, or a path through fear, or a challenge to face your family members, or your demons. Maybe you have lost a dream, or a job or a business. We are going to have to rebuild, regrow, heal. But who knows, maybe as you begin our “New Normal” in a post pandemic world, you can grow stronger than you were before. It might just take some tears, some time, some hard heart work, some re-imagination. God can heal your heart, and God can lead you into new business adventures, refocus our goals.
All I know for sure right now is that God is good, and He has good plans, plans to prosper and grow you, even in the midst of all that is falling down around us. I am trying to take time to cry out to Him soak in His Word, drink up the holy water, and push forward into these new challenges with my fiercest, wildest faith in God’s ability to bring new life.
