Spring is a season that confirms our hopes of warmer days ahead. I love seeing the first flowers pop up out of the snow. Sometimes when everything is cold and white or muddy brown, we forget that there is life under the bleakness. But in spring we remember that everything has it's time. Daffodils and crocus and tulips reach up boldly even when the grass is too shy to turn green. They are the first pop of color in a yard that has been gray for so many months. Do you want to learn to paint something like this? Join my Thursday March 10th at 6:00. I am doing a paint and sip class at Grace on Main Restaurant in Elk Horn. This will be a fun exploration of textures. We are going to use different mediums to spread paint and apply it. Starting with the ground layer, which has been frozen all winter under ice and snow, we are going to build a layered snow-scape. Then we will pick a spot in the earth for the flowers to pop out, a crack in the earth where the waiting for just the right time to emerge. If you are interested in joining us sign up fast... The first 14 out of 20 spots filled up the first day it was posted online! |
